my new skirt

I made this skirt on Friday night.
It took me only a couple hours.
I also did it while I was on the phone.

It was so easy!

Here's the tutorial...easy to follow!  It's not perfect, but I learned things, and will be hopefully making lots more of these easy skirts!

Here's a couple pictures...

I'm also linking up with Jenny at The Southern Institute for Creative Me Monday!

thanks to Abigail for taking the pictures!

photoshoot

So I made the skirt which I shared with you yesterday.

Today, I share all the pictures from the shoot!

Abigail (another best friend of mine) took these wonderful pictures of Meg and me!

I edited some, and some I didn't.  I want to go and crop some more of them and do some color edits...but for now, these work.  Later on, when I get the time, I'll share with you the finished edits!

(shirt: thrifted target, belt, thrifted gap, skirt: made by me, shoes: thrifted keds)

no sugar - day 2 of 10

It's hard.  Let me tell you, I didn't realize how addicted I was to sugar and breads!  I haven't broke yet.  I may tonight if we have cake...

I had rice pudding for lunch.  Hey, it has rice in it.
(ok maybe there's sugar, milk, and cinnamon.  and raisins.  but rice and raisins.  they are healthy, right?)

Breakfast was eggs and an apple.  Dinner will be Thai, as we are going out for my mom's birthday.  I love Thai.  It's amazing.  And we have this amazing place in Dallas we go to.

Anyway, I ran yesterday and did pretty good.  It was an escape for me that felt amazing!

Well, off to finish the essay for my lit class...and then on to my run!

no sugar - day 1 of 10

It's been awhile, I know.

I want to try and post more, and I'm working on it.  Life has been crazy though, and the hours short.

In other news, I am going off of sugar, bread, candy, and soda.
Also, running every day.
Weights every other day.
50 pushups.
300 crunches.
50 squats

(and whatever else I can think of to do.  plank for 1 minute, maybe?)

Until Thanksgiving.
Then I will eat and then go on this again.  For as long as I can.
Thanksgiving is only, including today, 10 days away.  I can do this for 10 days, right?

I need to eat better and tone up my body.

My bestie and I have a joke...

Yup.  It very well could go like that.

It already did this morning!  But I didn't give in to eating a cookie for breakfast.  I ate the oatmeal my mom made, and put 1 teaspoon of brown sugar on it.  And then I went and poured whole milk on it, but whatever.

I plan to document what I ate and post it.  I want to be kept accountable for doing this!

i know, i know. it's been sooo long!

But life just gets in the way!  It's amazing how it does that.  I wish I had all the time in the world to sit down and blog and stare at pinterst all day, but I don't.

Last night as I journaled, I came to the realization that I really need to be focused on:

1. God
2. Family/friends
3. School
4. Running
5. Fun stuff (blogging, pinterest, sewing, etc.)

I'm trying to stick to that.  As I sit here blogging as I ignore the school I need to do...so I'm going back to work now!

I love the men's dress shirt refashion.  I'm dying to try this out!

The card/envelope embroidery is so easy and tons of fun!  I've done this before.

I want to make this headband/cowel soon...Christmas presents?
